Tally Privacy Policy

The short version

Your money data stays on your phone. There is no account.
We never sell your data and we don't show ads.
The AI features send a short summary of your money to an AI service, and only after you say yes.

Your transactions, categories, budgets, recurring payments, goals and past "Is it worth it?" results.
They are saved in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
Backup files you make are yours. They go wherever you choose to save them.

"Is it worth it?": the product you typed, your category names, a summary of your budgets and monthly spending averages, your goals (name, amount, date), how many days of spending you have logged, and your budget survey answers if you filled it in (take-home income; rent, bills, loan payments and subscriptions; how much you save and invest a month; who you live with, how many children, whether you have pets, how you get around, how often you eat out, and which categories you spend the most on; how you split your income between needs, wants and savings), and how you plan to pay if you add it (your price, loan details, and the goal the money comes from).
Find savings: the same summary, plus your average spending per category.
Market Intel: only the risk level you picked (low, medium or high).
Report this answer: only if you tap it, the AI answer you are reporting and what you asked.
Each request carries a random install ID made by the app. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or device ID.
We never send your notes, tags or single transactions.

Our server passes these requests to OpenCode, which runs the AI model that writes the answer.
The AI model is Claude, made by Anthropic. Anthropic keeps requests for up to 30 days under its data policy, then deletes them. They are not used to train AI models.
The app asks for your permission before the first request. You can turn it off any time in Profile → Share with AI.
Requests are used only to answer you. They are not used for ads.

Your install ID and how many free AI uses you had each month, so the free plan limits work. We delete these counts after 13 months.
Short technical logs (time, address of the request, result code) to keep the service running. We don't store what you asked or the answers, except answers you report.
Answers you report, with your install ID, so we can check them and make the AI better. They are in our server logs, which are deleted within 30 days.

Tally Plus is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They handle your payment; we never see your card details.
RevenueCat tells us if your install ID has an active subscription.

Payment reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don't collect push notification tokens.

Delete everything on your phone in Profile → Delete all data.
Turn off AI sharing in Profile.
To delete the usage counts on our server, email us your install ID (shown at the bottom of Profile).

Tally is not meant for children under 13.
